Jack Evans

Jack started training at the age of 5 in his hometown, Leicester. At 16 he began full time training at Bird College of Dance, Music and Theatre Performance, graduating in 2011 with distinction and winning the Doreen Bird Award. Whilst training, Jack joined the Tap Attack Company and became dance captain of the National England Tap Team. In 2010 he was crowned World Duet Tap Champion for his performance and choreography at the World Tap Championships in Riesa, Germany. In the same competition his choreography for a female soloist also achieved 3rd place.

Jack has worked with corporate company Extreme Tap at events in Qatar and London, performed on The X Factor Live 2010, danced in the live final of Britain’s Got Talent 2011, taught workshops for the Tap Attack & other various dance schools, and most recently became original cast member and segment choreographer of Northern Tap Company’s inaugural performance of Soundz Extraordinary, which is set to tour the UK in 2012. After playing Aristocrat/Ensemble in 42nd Street at Curve Theatre, Leicester, Jack most recently performed with Adam Garcia in his guest judges performance on Got To Dance 3, Sky 1.

Jack aspires to revitalise tap through his innovative style that incorporates his diverse training in contemporary and street dance. Along with his music producing ability, he works to recreate the appreciation for tap from the era of the top hat and tails by complimenting his rhythmic and stylistic choreography with professionally mixed down tracks that create both audibly and visually effective performances.
