Jamie has been teaching tap for over ten years, and has a style mixing American Tap with Irish and Spanish influences. As a performer he has played leading roles in Spirit of The Dance, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Salad Days, Hard Times The Musical and many others. He has also appeared regularly on film and TV, including being the feet of more than 30 dancers in the movie The Boys From County Clare!
He has been involved in creating dance for dozens of professional shows, including assisting Olivier Award nominee Jenny Arnold at Birmingham Repertory Theatre and choreographing the recent London revival of Salad Days.
As a teacher, Jamie has worked at Reading Theatre College, Liverpool Theatre School & College, Thames Valley University, The Henley College, Associated Tap Dancers and many dance schools and companies, and he also runs The Read Dance & Theatre Company in Berkshire with his wife, Helen.
